of England Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2009
These prestigious awards are presented to exceptional
businesswomen working in the East of England region
who are self-employed and have developed and run
their own business or who have made a fundamental
contribution to the success of the company in
which they are employed. The awards acknowledge
the high achievement of women in the workplace
and, by raising their profile, encourage others
to aspire to self-employment, business ownership
or senior management positions.
Entries are invited for the three categories of
award: the Businesswoman of the Year, the Businesswoman
Entrepreneur of the Year and the Young Businesswoman

than 180 people attended the prestigious event
on 4th February where the 2009 East of England
Businesswoman of the Year was officially declared.
The award ceremony, at the Radisson Blu hotel,
Stansted, lauded a host of impressive female finalists
and saw accolades presented to businesswomen from
across the region
With
Lloyds TSB Commercial as the main sponsor and
the event hosted by the Suffolk branch of the
Institute of Directors, the awards have become
more hotly contested each year. The esteemed title
of Businesswoman of the Year was awarded to Jane
Osbourn, director of Cambridge-based MedImmune
Ltd.
